If you like loft-in-Soho sophistication, this is the spot. Spasi has a Manhattan-like style.

The decor is understated to a wait staff dressed head to toe in black.

Located in the storefront of a strip mall next to Molly Darcy's, this is not a large eatery. The local point of its dinning room, which seats 60, is a central brick wall fronted by a dramatic floor-to-ceiling wine rack. The rack is filled with an impressive array of vintages and list with flickering votive candles.

The room's ceiling lends pazazz. It's been gutted to reveal large air ducts neatly wrapped in shiny aluminum. Treated as part of the decor, they add stark interest overhead and visually expand the room.

Large antique advertising posters have been hung on the walls. Leather banquettes line the sides of the dinning room, while the center is furnished with square tables surrounded by wooden bistro chairs, dressed in white linen and topped with candles. Tapes of jazz play softly in the background.

The total effect is chic without trying too hard.

Reservations are taken Mondays through Thursdays and Sundays. Friday and Saturday evenings are first come, first serve. Attire is casual, Major credit cards are accepted

Wheelchair access is through the flat front entrance. Bathrooms have excellent accommodations for persons with disabilities. A parking lot fronts the restaurant.
